A huge welcome to 3 new GG runners;

  1. Christian Hopkins
  2. Michael Wright
  3. Emme

Give em a whoop, hola and a cheer!

We kicked things off this week with a welcome to the above new runners and Kylee who has made the wise move of moving from the big smoke to the Green City, a long time GG'er but new to GGSHEFF, WELCOME!

On arrival at Lynwood gardens we got gloved up and heard the brief from our main man PAPPA G who got us straight to work and sorted into teams;

  • TEAM BARK, WHEELBARROW, SPREAD (excellent work using this as weighted hills intervals!)
  • TEAM TEST OUR NETTLE
  • TEAM self proclaimed WIERDOS IN THE WILLOWS

Everyone got straight to work in rapid speed not letting the overgrown nettles or misty rain hamper our efforts. Rob was so impressed with his piles he wanted to show everyone and those weeds didn't stand a chance with expert SHEAF LANDSCAPES HEAD GARDENER SYTHING SAM taking out the nasties his gardening wizardry. In a short space of time you could really notice the difference with a huge impact being made in all areas. At the end of our time we Regathered our thoughts & tools and finished up by raking it in to leave a clean & tidy path for all users of the park. Gareth mentioned how many comments he gets from the park users after we have been in and how much of a difference it makes!

Until next week, happy running!

A trading co-operative helping people work together, support each other and make projects happen. Social action centre by day and intimate events venue by night.

Regather is a community benefit society working to improve food and build community in Sheffield. We run an organic farm, veg box scheme, and many other community projects. In our organisation, we centre our work around care for our environment and the people in our community. Our objects are to foster community development and understanding around the importance of the local food system in Sheffield and how it works, in order to enable everyone to work together to democratically change their food system for the better.
