It was a very hot (and some what sweaty!) walk taking Miss Bs food bank delivery to her home!
I was laden with tins, pasta and other kitchen essentials for Miss B who is unable to get the food bank herself.
Thank you to the volunteers at Kinson and West Howe food bank for their hard work.

Tonight’s session was all about quizzing fun at Abbeyfield Wessex! This time, Paul and Mohammed joined The Loose Women, while Eleanor sided with The Motley Crew. Caprice took the reins as quizmaster for the evening.
The quiz featured five lively rounds, including a nostalgic "Name That Gameshow Theme Tune" and a playful "Sink or Float" round. Caprice kicked things off by handing out random household objects, prompting the teams to guess whether each item would sink or float. At the end of the round, she tested each object in water—one point awarded for every correct guess!
Both teams brought their A-game in a very close match. The Loose Women scored an impressive 36 points, but it was The Motley Crew who edged ahead to victory with 39 points!
A great evening filled with laughs, teamwork, and a little friendly rivalry. Who knows what next month’s challenge will bring?
The GoodGymers will return on Monday 9th June for more quizzness—we hope to see you there!

Keith and Lea had signed up for another four flatpacks to be unflatpacked into two wardrobes. All went smoothly, considering the recent experience gained in this area… only unsmooth thing was: oops, Lea dropping one of the flatpacks on her toes, ouch! At least it was not her thumb that got bashed this time. #job✅

Keith and Lea cycled to Christchurch quay to help with the setting up for VE day celebrations. Lea has always hated bunting with a vengeance and now… even more so! I don’t know if it is the Dutchness in Lea, but the untidiness of bunting gives her the creeps. Keith, on the other hand, was happily bunting away even on the grandstand!! Luckily we got away before the actual celebrations began: judging by all the microphones and amplifiers it is going to go with a bang tonight.

Two Goodgymmers , Keith and Lea, joined 8 other people from Ethical Kitchen Garden to clear the garden area behind St Ambrose Church. The area needs clearing because the group wants to start growing vegetables there for the local community. Pulling ivy, lots of it, digging up rhododendrons, cutting and lopping… we got lots done, but there is still an awful lot more to do! But… that means more tasks for us Goodgymmers, yay!

Three Goodgymmers, Daryl, Keith and Lea, got their tools out, ready to tackle more flatpacks for another refugee family. Two wardrobes, four flatpacks?!?! Oh, two flatpacks each, luckily numbered nicely to get the right packs together. Tools laid out, screws, dowels and all the other bits and bobs lined up, wardrobe parts ready and waiting. Lifting, shifting, hammering and of course screwing in ALL those screws… One screw left, one dowel left, oh oh… no no they are spares, no problem! Phew! And eh, Lea, you are not supposed to hit your thumb with the hammer, ouch! Good teamwork resulted in two nice wardrobes set up in no time for an Afghan refugee family to use as from next week. Well done, team!
