Emily and Paul had an enjoyable session with the lovely Ms J, she is partially sighted and we were there to help read documents to her. However, there really wasn’t much to read but we were able to signpost her to organisations that might be able provide support to her.

When I returned to the lovely Ms L’s with her completed service wash this morning, she said that I ‘looked less scary than yesterday.’ I’d gone round after a trip to the dentist and unbeknownst to me I had a small dribble of blood from the edge of my mouth, so presumably looked a little like Dracula! She was more chatty too and pleased that I had got her washing sorted out.

The first part of a regular mission for the lovely Ms L, taking her bulky laundry to the laundrette in the row of shops at the bottom of my road. The ticket always makes me smile ….

Sir Alex Ferguson was famed for his hair dryer treatment (where he would stand inches from player’s faces to berate them for poor performance). I don’t think that I have an Alex Ferguson to unleash but I found Paul Scholes hiding behind an elephant on Mr J’s window sill as I moved I few things to allow me to heat seal the film on his windows.
This didn’t take long, so I was able to put up a solar light in the garden for him too.

Another week, another GG task - this week we were heading to The Albany to help in the garden. The team at The Albany have been focusing on the garden and making the best use of the space. Our tasks for the evening were to level out the compost pile and a litter pick of the garden. The litter gets blown in by the wind and also the foxes spread it around the garden.
We split into groups to tackle the different tasks and then got to work!
If anyone remembers the giant compost pile from our last visit, it was nearly as tall as most of us and was not easy to maintain. Luckily most of that had been cleared before we arrived so we had the task of leveling out what remained. Hopefully next time we visit there will be some dedicated compost bays!!
The litter team did a wonderful job of collecting 5+ bags of litter! One group I couldn't drag away from a pile of litter, that's definitely a better position to be in than no one wanting to litterpick.
Well done to everyone - we made a huge difference last night! Next week we are heading to Hither Green to do some tree care and post-driving.

I always look forward to visits to the lovely Ms L - she is like an old friend and we make each other laugh a lot, She has Motor Neurone Disease and finds it impossible to sort papers and documents. Today we went through a box that mainly related to her Mum - a mixture of things about her Mum’s health from years ago, some of Ms L’s exam certificates and instruction manuals for kitchen appliances bought 20 years ago! We also talked about Ms L’s health and how she is coping - there were tears amongst the laughter today.
