Hi everyone, Tonight we headed to Verulamium Park for a spot of litter picking — because apparently our evening plans now involve hunting for other people’s rubbish! 😂 The park was actually looking pretty good already, but we still managed to fill three bags, so clearly there was some work to be done. It was just me, Nick and Mum tonight, and the three of us had a good laugh while giving the park a bit of TLC. Three bags later and the place is looking even better. Not a bad evening’s work for a small but perfectly formed team! 💪🌳 Thanks to Nick and Mum for joining me, and hopefully we’ll see a few more of you next week. The more people we have, the more rubbish we can confidently point at before someone else picks it up! 😆 Looking forward to seeing you all at the next session. See you then! Andrew

What a great evening at Bernard’s Heath! We had a new comer Kat join us tonight, so it was lovely to welcome a new face to the group. After a bit of a meet and greet, we got stuck into the task — and we certainly weren’t short of materials! We discovered some huge logs and, naturally, decided the best thing to do with them was build a dam! 🌳💪 So David will be very happy with us — although I’m not sure our dam-building skills would pass an official inspection! 😂 There were plenty of laughs, lots of teamwork and, as always, a good giggle along the way. A really fun evening all round. Thanks everyone for coming along, and we’re already looking forward to seeing you all again next week! ❤️

🦋 🌿 Tonight we headed back up to the New Greens Community Wild Garden, where our mission was simple: dump a load of chalk on a giant mound and call it conservation! 😂 We’ve been helping prepare the butterfly mound before it gets seeded, spreading chalk around to create the perfect conditions for a beautiful wildflower habitat. Once it’s all planted and growing, it should become a fantastic little haven for butterflies, insects and all sorts of other wildlife. 🦋🐝🌼 So basically, tonight we were landscapers, gardeners and wildlife architects… although most of the time it just looked like we were throwing white powder at a hill. 🤣 We were also joined by Hannah Crane from GoodGym Head Office, who came along to see what we're getting up to in St Albans — so hopefully she wasn't too disappointed to discover that our idea of a glamorous evening involves a wheelbarrow and a pile of chalk! A big thank you to Hannah, Nick, Danielle and the whole team for another brilliant session. 💪 The butterfly mound is coming along brilliantly, and we're looking forward to seeing it transformed into a buzzing, blooming wildlife paradise. Another job done by GoodGym! 🏃‍♂️🌱❤️

GoodGym Weekly Report What a brilliant evening in Verulamium Park! 🌙 We spent the evening litter-picking and cleared up piles and piles of rubbish. The park is looking excellent, and it was made even more special by the gorgeous moon overhead. A huge thank you to Nick, Frankie, Tim and Liz for putting in such a great shift — and well done to everyone involved. We’ve definitely left the park looking better than we found it! 💪🌳 We’re looking forward to seeing everyone back after the holidays next week. Until then, enjoy the rest of your week! 😊

Tonight we headed back to Bernard’s Heath for a bit of litter-picking — although, with the summer holidays in full swing, our numbers were looking a little… selective! 😂 It was me, Steve, Liz, Ramonah and Frankie representing GoodGym tonight, and despite being a smaller squad, we certainly weren’t going to let the lack of numbers stop us. Thankfully, Bernard’s Heath was looking pretty good, so there wasn’t a huge amount of litter to collect. But we believe in leaving no crisp packet, bottle or random bit of rubbish behind, so we picked up every last little bit we could find. 💪 The litter picking may have been relatively light, but the giggles and general nonsense were definitely plentiful! 😆 It was another lovely evening out together, getting some fresh air, doing something useful and, most importantly, having a good time. A big thanks to Steve, Liz, Ramona and Frankie for coming along — especially during the holiday season when everyone seems to be disappearing off in different directions! Next week we’re heading to Verulamium Park, and hopefully we’ll have a few more GoodGym faces back from their holidays.
