We had a relatively simple task today of leafleting for Antz Kids Activity Club, Beat the Boat 10k race and of course GoodGym
Our meet up point was Salt Hill Activity Centre with the aim of an easy jog around the park followed by strides before hitting the streets of Slough with a leaflet task. I'm not sure the strides had the same exciting impact on the team as they do on me but when Mehdi says
Yes why not!
Then why not? So off went Mehdi, Ali, Vineet, Keith and I as Jen and Brenda continued with their walking laps of the park.
We always love seeing Brenda, who is Jen's mum and partner in crime! Thanks for coming along Brenda.
So as we left the park towards Baylis Rd I planted the seed of 'hill sprints' on Horlicks Bridge... but I think they thought I was joking!
We split off into smaller teams/pairs to cover as much ground as we could.
Jen and Brenda went down Baylis Rd
Keith and Ali went down Bradley Rd
Whilst Vineet, Mehdi and I took Belgrave Rd
Although it looked like we had a lot of leaflets we all ran out of them within 25 minutes but luckily we had covered most the houses in our subsequent areas.
So hill sprints it is!!!!
Vineet was eager to do 5 reps so that's what we did!
Well done to everyone..
See you next week at Shaggy Calf Lane at 6:30 for a litter pick task at Wexham Park Hospital.

Tonight's task was all about spreading the love and letting the locals of the Britwell area know about the services that Antz Kids and Artful Hub provide as well as a little bit of self promotion about GoodGym with our new leaflets! Nothing wrong with being loud and proud of what we do.
A very warm welcome to Keith on his first session with us. We hope you enjoyed it and return for more.
We started the evening by doing a game of head, shoulders, knees, toes and cone followed by knee tag... as we are all a little unfamiliar with the area we were in today, we decided to do our 'run/walk' part in Kennedy Park.
Then we split into 3 teams and went off for 30 odd minutes in 3 different directions to get the leaflets distributed. Our original task tonight was sadly cancelled so Eva very kindly gave us her leaflets to distribute - such a leaf-saver! We followed the usual rules - no junk mail signs meant we leaf-t that house out and in my case - any signs of 'beware of the dog'!
As always we rolled up our s-leaf-s and got the job done.
Next week is our Halloween special! Please come along to Salt hill park (outside the Activity centre) for a goulgym litter pick of the park.
Thank you to everyone involved in tonight's task.

Tonight's task was to distribute leaflets for the lovely Eva and her Artful Hub/Antz Kids on their art classes and children's club classes in the Britwell area.
Lift, rack, raise and throw!
We met at Kennedy Park and did a fitness session involving medicine ball slams (and throws!); kettlebell swings; agility ladder runs. The team were split into 2 and one went off to do a walk/run up the path and back whilst the other slammed, racked, pressed and swung heavy kit around...all in a controlled manner of course. I do love Kennedy Park, it has a great 'hill sprints' hill, you can see the trading estate towers from there and it has lovely housing estates surrounding it.
As Eva's Antz Kids Club is based in Britwell, it made perfect sense to be in this area. I must admit, it's a part of Slough that I know that well but that's the beauty of GoodGym, you get to go to every area and see what it has to offer!
After the fitness session we headed up Wentworth Ave towards the library (which is really impressive and worth a visit by the way), and then split off into 4 pairs with 30(ish) leaflets each. The aim was to see which pair would come back first to Kennedy Park.
Leaflet dropping is always better in 2's! So off we went in our pairs taking a few streets each. Well within 40 minutes we had all distributed 300. We definitely flew this through this task tonight.
First team back were Sara and Jen, closely followed by Claire and I, then Pam and Kam and last but not least Jean and Mehdi.
Next week we are at the Cherry Orchard Allotments, meeting at Masaani on Shaggy Calf Lane at 6.30pm

It's Summer time! I think I almost got a suntan today (almost!). A bit of deja-vu at today's session. Not only did we meet at our pre Covid base location (Salt Hill Park), but we also had Jenni back in the team..
Our task this evening was to deliver some leaflets for Slough Borough Council and Artful Hub/Antz Kids
Streets Ahead
I was trying to be prepared today, so earlier on in between teams calls and collecting kids from school I put the two flyers together in bundles of 50 pairs making 5 packs. This way each GG'er would have 100 leaftlets to distribute. That was the plan anyway.
So before we headed out to the streets of Slough, we did a warm up lap of the Salt Hill as our 'run/way to' part!
We then split up into 2 teams with team M&S going up and down Baylis Rd, whilst team PJ went down Woodland Ave and the side streets.
Within 30 minutes we were done! Well Team PJ were… Team M&S still had another handful to do, so we headed back into the park and to the houses around Salt hill.
250 leaflets distributed!
Next week we are back at Ujala for another go at the garden space.
