A big thanks to Becca and Abi for helping out at the South Bank Swap Shop, without any money changing hands! They set up the tables and racks, sorted the clothes and new donations, tidied and folded to keep the swap running smoothly. South Bank Clothes Swap are very grateful for our extra pairs of hands. I think this pair win the biggest smiles competition in every task they do! The next one is on Saturday 26th September.

Southbank Clothes Swap must have been surprised when the Goodgym Spanish speaking contingent arrived to set-up and dismantle their local clothes swap. With the efficiency of Planet Food veterans, there was no need to be instructed on where the tables were stored!

We set up the swap stations, sorted the clothes and chatted to folk who dropped by. There was a steady stream of swappers who were delighted to know they could take as much as they like and all for free! Leanne braved the fresh air after her illness and took a fox hoody home. Jenna found more costumes for her play and James and Vicky practiced their folding techniques. Vicky helped pack it all away again too. It looks like this will be a permanent feature in South Bank. Great news for Swapaholics!

When the first donor of clothes arrived Anna, our organiser knew this clothes swap was going to be a success. The lady had bags of quality clothes from some swanky brands. We all ooohed and aah-ed then got on with the job of checking for rips and stains, soring and putting out the items. Every new donor was invited to lay their offering at the alter of swaps - it literally was an alternative use of the Methodist church alter! There was a steady stream of swappers. But the pile of donations grew higher each time, despite everyone going away happy with a new heap of goodies. Many people wanted to know if there will be another one. Anna hopes to run it at the end of every couple of months. We hope so- Goodgym will be there!
