Camden + Sunday Morning Community :)

Camden Report written by Alex Murtough (he/him)

11 GoodGymers brought community (and muscle!) to this special North London green space!

Nestled between houses and flats in Holly Lodge Estate is a blossoming green space for the community.

Nurtured and designed by Growing Green (a wonderful charity) this vacant space is steadily becoming an actively loved space for everyone.

And we were there to lend a very helpful hand yesterday morning!

Our group of...

๐Ÿ’š Goodgym new starters Joanna, Krista, Mariama, and Philippa โ€” a big welcome! ๐Ÿ’š GoodGymers from Tower Hamlets, Hammersmith, and beyond โ€” Emma, Fiona, Ilana, James, and Kareem โ€” it was great to see you! ๐Ÿ’š Camden GG regular Danny โ€” it was fab seeing you!!

... made a HUGE difference in 90 busy minutes!

There was digging and weeding and planting and shifting materials and boxes and cutting trees and pruning branches, and our task host (Claudia) was truly AMAZED at how much you all did :)

Thank you so much for your work and energy, everyone! See you soon!

Community Cape

James Seago earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.

James completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, James was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Donโ€™t cry over spilt sand

Wandsworth Report written by Sophie Humphrey

Team Wandsworth were embracing the January challenge in style with a fantastic group turning up today to transform a nursery 60 minute makeover style. We had a big job on our hands and so we split up to cover the various areas. One team may have landed the inside job but had multiple storeys and a lift to contend with to get their items out of the door. The outside team received an education in nursery life discovering spaces from the mud kitchen to the forest cabin! AstroTurf was rolled out to create a new space and we cleared out a whole host of unwanted and sometimes unexpected things (including the largest rubber deck we have ever seen) to ensure the children had the best play area possible. Once we had done our removals work, it was time to tackle the main event - the sand pit! It felt as large as a long jump pit and the clearance certainly felt like an Olympic effort. We furiously shovelled away and filled all of the bags that we had at our disposal. The bags didnโ€™t always keep up with our ambitions but we ploughed on and filled a whole parking space with all our collected items. Impressive work Team Wandsworth! Well done all and a special shout out to James who achieved his first good deed today!
