I was one of four volunteers including three GoodGymmers who visited the Vauxhall Garden Community Centre to help with the Thursday preparation of food items that will be distributed at their Friday foodbank.

Before the main delivery arrived we start to cut up and bag the large delivery of bread that had been delivered.

The main delivery then followed. Amongst the deliveries which included of carrots, cabbages, limes, corn cobs, a large quantity of doughnuts, the foodbank received a box of cereal branded from the Netflix programme Squid Games.

We successfully completed the task in preparation for the foodbank.

🏃‍♀️🌱 This week our lovely bunch of fitness fanatics and gardening gladiators headed to Landor Road Allotments to lend Valcie a helping hand - and boy, did we dig right in! 🏃‍♂️💨

The Tasks That Made Us Grow 🌿

Our green-fingered gang tackled:

• Weeding - We really got to the root of the problem! 🌾
• Chopping - Nothing like a good chop to get the heart pumping! ✂️
• Watering - Keeping things flowing smoothly 💧
• Edging - We were really on the edge of our … beds! 🌸
• Litter picking - Because we’re absolutely rubbish at leaving a mess behind! 🗑️

The team worked so hard, you could say we were absolutely plant-astic! 🌻

The Berry Best Part - Late Summer Social! 🥳

But wait, there’s more! The real magic happened when the sun went down and the party vibes came up! Our late summer social was absolutely mint to be! 🌿✨

Everyone brought something delicious to share (because good food + good people = thyme well spent! ⏰🌿). We spread out under the stars for an evening picnic that was simply un-beet-able! 🥗🎵

The 90s playlist had everyone feeling nostalgic - from Blue Dabadee to Gangsters Paradise, we were grow-ving to the beat all night long! 🎶 And yes, there may have been some questionable karaoke performances under the lamplight that had us all in stitches (the good kind, not the running kind!) 🎤💡

The Verdict 🏆

A lovely time was had by all, and we proved once again that the best way to turnip the fun is by mixing fitness, community service, and good friends!

GoodGym Lambeth - where we work out while we help out!

🏃‍♀️💪 🏃‍♂️✨ What a WEED-erful evening we had with our awesome crew at Holy Trinity! 🌿

Our mission commanders Nicole and Adam (fellow GGer extraordinaire) had us getting down and dirty with some serious weed warfare along the main entrance. We scraped, we pulled, we conquered those pesky pavement invaders like the gardening gladiators we are! 💪🌱

The timing couldn't have been more perfect - with a wedding happening this weekend, we made sure those happy couples won't be tripping over trip-hazards on their special day! 👰💒 Nothing says "I do" like a pristinely weeded walkway, am I right? 😄

Speaking of Holy matrimony - Holy Trinity is currently advertising for a new vicar! Maybe they need someone who can really "grow" their congregation? 🙏😉

MASSIVE shout-outs to tonight's legendary lineup: 🚴‍♂️ Paul - who cycled in like the two-wheeled hero he is! 🏃‍♀️ Fi - made her own way and absolutely smashed it! 🏃‍♂️ Michael - also went solo and showed those weeds who's boss!

You could say we really... ROSE to the occasion! 🌹 The entrance looked absolutely mint when we finished - we definitely didn't let the grass grow under our feet! 🌿✨

Well, well, well... what do you know? Our usual standing task decided to leaf us hanging this week! 🍃 But did we let that weed us out? Absolutely not! Instead, we rose to the occasion and headed to Papa's Park for some proper gardening action.

The Route That Took Root

Our fabulous crew laced up for a scenic 2km loop to Clapham and back - because nothing says "warm-up" like a gentle jog before you get down and dirty with some serious weeding!

Operation Dandelion Destruction

Once we arrived at Papa's Park, we split into two crack teams of vegetation vigilantes:

Team Planter Power took on the inside job - pulling weeds and taming the escaped greenery around the planters. These green-fingered heroes really knew how to turnip the heat! 🌿

Team Perimeter Patrol tackled the wild frontier along the outside edge, hacking away at the rebellious weeds that had clearly been growing a bit too big for their boots. Talk about mint to be! 🌱

Special Shout-Out Corner

We're absolutely Dan-de-lighted to have Dan back with us tonight! 🦸‍♂️ Fresh from his Superman audition for the new movie (seriously, Dan, please don't do your own stunts - we need you in one piece for future weeding missions!). His return really helped us turnip the energy levels!

The Dirt on Tonight

Another classic GoodGym session in the books! We came, we saw, we weeded - and Papa's Park is looking fresh thanks to our green-thumbed heroes.
