Tonight the GoodGym Leeds gang did a second task, washing chairs at Left Bank for their upcoming wedding season. Please see the first tasks report for more info...
Wed 23rd Apr at 6:00pm
Tonight, 16 GoodGymers managed two tasks in one night. We met at Heart and ran to Hyde Park Source where we negotiated the tricky lock to get out the litter pickers and we did a 30 minute litter pick of Rose bank where the team filled 16 bags full of rubbish but Helen won the prize by finding a dead rat!!! Poor old Roland :( We then headed to Left Bank where we washed all their wedding chairs ready for the new season. At one point, we thought that we were done but then found a stack more but the group were troopers and got the cloths back out to finish the job. All of this was finished off with a drink at the end.
Welcome back to Nessa & Alex tonight & thanks to Adam, Elspeth, Lydia & Jitheesh for waiting for the walkers at the end.
Well done team, we had a later night than usual, so thank you to all of you.

It was great to have such a big group tonight, with 15 GoodGymers running up to Bedford Fields to do various jobs. It wouldn't be Bedford Fields without a wood chip workout, so we wood chipped all the paths, cleared and chopped up debris, sieved soil & Jubz dug a big hole to lay a pipe and then filled it all back in.
Welcome to newcomers Annie & Laura & welcome back to Kawan who last joined us in 2020 (thanks for the bike ride)!
Thanks all & great work everyone.

After several changes in task this week, 8 GoodGymers still got together to run around 4.5K and to litter pick around the Hyde Park Corner area. We filled 8 bags with Christian & Katie being the champions and filling theirs the fullest! Car wheels and dead squirrels were found along with many, many cigarette ends.
A few milestones were reached tonight; Jason completed his 35th good deed & Christian & Shannen both completed their 30th! Well done guys & keep up the good work.
Thanks to Helen for another great run.

Tonight, 11 GoodGymers headed down to support the Ash Road Residents Association & the great work that they do in their local area.
We split into two groups, one group headed to the little garden besides the wood where we planted bulbs last year. The garden was somewhat winterfied (yes, I made up a word!) so we cleared all the leaves & dug around the borders to tidy it all up ready for spring.
The second group headed to the planters to sand them down ready for painting, which we'll do when the nights get lighter.
Well done all, it was a good team effort before our run back to Heart.

Helen took us on an adventurous run on the way back from Beckhill Community Garden last night. If I tell the story, we were chased by two horses into a prickly bush. If Helen tells it, two horses came towards us out of curiosity and I was over dramatic. I like my version better :)
The Wednesday gang headed up to Stainbeck United Reformed Church to clear their paths & litter pick in preparation for their Garden Action Day for kids on half term. The minister is particularly pleased with the drains that Jason was determined to clear. It was nice to go somewhere different and the run on the way back was certainly an adventure! Lydia had just washed her trainers...always a mistake before one of Helen's runs!
Welcome to Ebun on her first task, we hope to see you again soon. Thanks to Helen for another great run.
