Bernard’s Heath – A Small Team, Big Effort! 🏃‍♂️🗑️

St Albans Report written by Andrew Trevillion

Tonight we headed back to Bernard’s Heath for a bit of litter-picking — although, with the summer holidays in full swing, our numbers were looking a little… selective! 😂 It was me, Steve, Liz, Ramonah and Frankie representing GoodGym tonight, and despite being a smaller squad, we certainly weren’t going to let the lack of numbers stop us. Thankfully, Bernard’s Heath was looking pretty good, so there wasn’t a huge amount of litter to collect. But we believe in leaving no crisp packet, bottle or random bit of rubbish behind, so we picked up every last little bit we could find. 💪 The litter picking may have been relatively light, but the giggles and general nonsense were definitely plentiful! 😆 It was another lovely evening out together, getting some fresh air, doing something useful and, most importantly, having a good time. A big thanks to Steve, Liz, Ramona and Frankie for coming along — especially during the holiday season when everyone seems to be disappearing off in different directions! Next week we’re heading to Verulamium Park, and hopefully we’ll have a few more GoodGym faces back from their holidays. We’re already looking forward to seeing everyone again! ❤️ Until then… keep running, keep helping, and keep an eye out for those rogue bits of litter! 🏃‍♀️🗑️

Tables, Teamwork & a Tuesday Takedown

St Albans Report written by Andrew Trevillion

Tonight we headed over to St. Savier’s Church for a little summer-holiday helping hand! With numbers slightly lower than usual thanks to everyone making the most of the sunshine and holidays, we still had a brilliant little team. We arrived nice and early, got stuck straight in and dismantled the tables before taking all the recycling around the corner. There was plenty of teamwork, a few giggles along the way, and before we knew it… we were finished! 🙌 A massive thank you to Tim, Ramonah, Frankie and Adam for all your help tonight. You smashed it! 👏 Great job, guys — another Tuesday night mission complete. Enjoy your well-earned early night! 😴💤 Until the next one… 💪

Roman Around the Bushes! 🏛️🌿

St Albans Report written by Andrew Trevillion

The Romans would have been proud of us this evening as we gave Verulamium Park a well-deserved clean-up!

It was a beautiful evening spent diving in and out of bushes in search of litter. Nick Nickmade the most unusual discovery of the night with a discarded pair of pants, while SteveStephen somehow managed to find more dog poops than anyone thought possible!

Despite the interesting finds, there was plenty of laughter, great teamwork and another fantastic effort from everyone. We left Verulamium Park looking the best it's ever looked.

Well done, gang – another brilliant GoodGym mission completed!

🌳Heath Heroes: Picking, Pulling and planking 💪

St Albans Report written by Andrew Trevillion

🌳 What a fantastic evening at Bernards Heath, with a brilliant turnout from the St Albans crew! A huge welcome to newcomer RamonahRamonah – it was great to have you join us, and we hope it's the first of many GoodGym adventures. We were also delighted to have GoodGym legend Gill Gill with us for the evening. Great to see you! We were met by Dave, Chair of the Friends of Bernards Heath, who led us on a mission to hunt down every last bit of litter across the park. Armed with litter pickers and plenty of enthusiasm, the team covered every inch of the heath, leaving it looking cleaner and greener for everyone to enjoy. But we weren't finished there! We then swapped litter pickers for some serious heavy lifting, carrying some very hefty logs to help build a natural dam. Safe to say there were plenty of muscles being put to good use. Of course, it wouldn't be a GoodGym session without an abs challenge. We started the evening with an abs workout to get the core pumping . If you're feeling it tomorrow... you're not alone! 💪 Thanks to everyone who came along and gave their time and energy to make Bernards Heath an even better place. Same time next week? 🌿🏃
