Bath Report written by Bath runner
Another scorching evening at Goodgym Bath, 12 rather sticky runners came along for a lifesaving hearty task checking some of the defibrillators located around the city
well done to  Emma and Joe on getting a PB at The Two Tunnels 10k on Sunday in roasting conditions. Ollie was in charge of the timing.
Congratulations to Rodie who graduates on Thursday....Good Luck In your future.
A warm up out to have a demonstration on the defibrillator located on Manvers Street so everyone is singing from the same page and there was no confusion as to what need to be done.
We split up into three teams for tonightâs task to cover as many locations as possible, checking four vital points for each one, 1.The Ready status, 2. Battery and power supply, 3. Pads connected and in date and 4.Rescue kit with defibrillator. Teams were issued with a monthly check form and pen for each defibrillator to be ticked, signed and their destinations to cover in the allotted time.
TEAM 1- LONDON ROAD- Emma, Ollie, Mark and Lydia
TEAM 2-ROYAL VICTORIA PARK/PERCY CENTRE-Steph, Mary, Pascale and Chloe
TEAM 3-WIDCOMBE/OLDFIELD PARK BAPTIST CHURCH-Alison, Sam, Steve and Rodie.
We set off in different directions to reach our required locations getting  back to the leisure centre at the agreed time of 7.45pm for stretches and discussion on the task and votes on the best pun of the evening.
Check Mate
A fab pun from Mary and Pascale, great night as always. MARK and LYDIA topped the evening off with a spot of Kayaking (at their own risk) looked fun though, if you like water sports.

HELLO EVAN
A group hello to Evan who tends the gardens and is also a keen runner who has promised me that he will join us for a run very soon, but for now we had work to do and Evan wasted no time getting us organised for this 30 minute session, weeding through the flower beds and composting our gathering of weeds Â
THANK YOU AND GOODBYE
Times up, we sign as a group under the watchful eye of our lovely interpreter and make our merry way back along the river to the leisure centre for a good old stretch.

Oh, What a Beautiful Evenin'. "Oh, What Beautiful People" in fact 14 fabulous runners came along tonight for a lovely 4k run out to Royal Victoria Park to rake up the sand and pick up litter in the playpark and skate park after a busy weekend with glorious weather and the upcoming event being held in the Park this weekend, we want to be proud of our beautiful city.
Pub in the Park will be heading to our beautiful city of Bath from 8 - 10 June to bring a glorious three day feast with the very best food the country has to offer. Tom Kerridge and his merry band of foodie friends are chuffed to be touring the country with a line up of world-class chefs, Michelin-starred pubs, plus a selection of other top UK pubs and restaurants to serve their most popular dishes. Combined with great live music, chef demonstrations, top quality shopping and other festival fun, it has all the ingredients for the perfect foodie experience. So sit back, relax and let the 'lush vibes' kick in. https://www.pubintheparkuk.com/bath
Welcome, Welcome to Liam and Tom joining us this evening
A few announcements before we kick off this evening, Pascale is next up for that 100 t-shirt, just 9 to go. Alison obviously taking the leaderboard with distance ran so far this month 62k over the weekend alone. Joe is leading Sam by 2 deeds, come on lads!
Well Done, Mary for making an amazing Olympic torch and what a stunner it is. Our headcount had a celerity vibe to it this evening Tip Top was TOM HARDY
A nice run out to the park this warm summers evening, taking in the amazing aromas on route before arming ourselves with rakes and litter pickers to sweep through the play area like a swarm of ants.
We tackled the various sandpits and cleared the pathway of sand and weeds, Steve and Tom made a litter pick sweep of the play park and skate park. There was just enough time for some recreational activities before heading back to the leisure centre.

Drop it like its hot for 14 runners this evening in Bath all in the name of FOODDROP, a great initiative created by students at Bath University using a clever little app to select a drop that suits, collecting surplus food from various outlets in the city centre and delivering them to local charities, yes it`s that simple so why not get involved https://www.fooddrop.co.uk/
WARM UP AND WELCOME to Thanu and Emilie joining us for their first taste of Goodgym Bath...Nice to have you along.
Our headcount tonight had a filling feel to it, what sandwich filling floats your boat? Most creative answer from Chris with his Avocado and smoked salmon creation...Yummy!!
The pickups couldnât take place until 7pm so we had time to enjoy a fitness session in Southgate centre beforehand making use of the artificial grass for some extra padding working in pairs, planking and sit-ups with an audience enjoying every moment.
The time came to split up into three groups led by myself, Thanu and Alison covering two Pret locations and The Soho coffee house to collect todays surplus food and make our drops to project 28 and The YMCA in the City centre. Varying distances ran tonight from 4-6k
The pick-ups are always at 7pm when the stores close and taken after scanning the location barcode to verify the collectors with the assigned charities receiving the Surplus food before they distribute it on to those in need.
WE`LL MEET AGAIN
I do know where, I do know when, I know we`ll meet again at 7:30pm in the Abbey Churchyard for a little run to finish off before heading back to the leisure centre to see if any of the groups came up with a top notch pun for tonightâs run report.
The winning pun goes to Joe with âWhat an unbaguette-able runâ
Thanks to Sam for leading tonightâs stretches...Superman Sam he is.
Thank you to Miranda, Thanu joining us from Food drop, just download the App to make it a regular thing, the drops are Monday to Friday and with the student holidays looming they could do with all the support they can get.
Finally, We need an Olympic torch making for the Goodgym Olympics at the end of the month, so if youâre feeling creative let me know or if youâd like to compete sign up https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/goodgym-taskforce-presents-the-goodgym-olympics-2018 Â Â Â Â

SNOW JOKE this morning for 5 darn fine ladies for a bitterly cold 6k run to ALICE PARK COMMUNITY GARDEN for a spot of digging and manure menoeuvering
WELCOME TO RODIE... WHOOP!!
Joining us for her first taste of Goodgym. What a fine job she did with her partner in crime Angharad on wheelbarrow 1 and Mary and Allie on barrow 2, i would also like to point out that team barrow 1 had to push with a flat tyre making the task an extra tough workout for our lovely students.
It's a mucky job, but someones go to do it
We worked for 50 minutes digging over the beds and covering the prepped soil with a nice layer of manure ready for the new growing season. 6 wheelbarrows full on each bed brought across from the bottom of the garden and 5 beds in total.
Frozen fingers
Finally got the better of us, with task completed our host KATHY warmed our hands and hearts with fresh mint tea and her own spicy warm nut mix in the shelter of the green house .... Fabulous!!
we arrived back at the leisure centre and made a few new friends whilst stretching out and couldn't resist a picture.
