Excellent Lambeth runners legged it on a nearly 9km round trip to help Streatham Youth and Community Trust

Today we were joined by Wandsworth regular Alyx, who is going to be the new trainer for our first university-based GoodGym at UCL - good luck Alyx!

After a warm up where Katie almost lost the keys to Papa's, we set off in two groups on the long road to Streatham. We were helping out a new task tonight, Streatham Youth and Community Trust. They have a range of sites across Streatham and they all need a good old clear out.

It was a solid 4.4km each way and on arrival, we formed a wonderful human chain to take loads of gubbins out of the attic. We either had to keep , chuck or recycle. There were lots of magazine racks, a shredder, some bottom of door brush things and a FAX MACHINE. It was like being in a time warp. We even sang The Chain by Fleetwood Mac to keep the decade topical.

Once clear, we headed back to base for some stretches and this week's Bake Off goodies - a DELICIOUS pear and chocolate pudding provided by Aislin. You can see by David's face in the photo how much he enjoyed it. TOP WORK LAMBETH!

Delivering youth and play work to local children of all ages

SYCT's mission is to support children and young people to reach their full potential by providing regular stimulating, challenging, exciting and rewarding activities and opportunities. Most of their funding goes directly into the delivery of services and a skeleton staff team look after finance, fundraising and asset management. This means they don’t get the time needed to deal with things like repairs, maintenance, deep cleaning and the like.
