Report written by Steven Hitcham
The last bank holiday GoodGym run of 2018 saw 20 people turn out to help Bluebell South Allotments. There were some overgrown allotment patches that the owner could no longer maintain so we were coming in to give them a helping hand.
The evening started with a fist pump to welcome everyone as the turned up outside The Forum.
Rumours were flooding in that there was birthday cake for afterwards (Mish was 30 on Thursday and she's currently on day 10 of 38 of her celebrations).
Bill was fashioning his newly graffitied '50' t-shirt that Katy had secretly done... let's hope he returns the favour ;-)
A well done to Sandra and Tasha for doing their 10th good deeds tonight!
We even had a guest appearance from Rob Riley, who was on his 49th good deed and hoping to do his 50th back in London later in the week.
Katy talked through the Community Mission that took place yesterday, a massive litter pick was done as part of Pure Clean Earth.
The Bluebell South Allotments were just under 3km each way, Mahesh met us there and went through the tasks, which were digging and strimming.
Stephen took on the strimming duties... all I kept thinking was a Borat voice saying:
you are real man
Some of the group came across a beetle that they duly named Violet... she should be in one of the photos.
After 30 minutes of hard work we packed the tools away and headed back to The Forum for some cake... yummy and moist it was.
Next week the EDP should be joining us as we visit Norwich Farmshare.
