Our Bidwells Cambridge 10k race is an annual event. Support 3,000 runners to have an amazing 10k experience as they help to fund groundbreaking research and life-changing support for people living with muscle wasting conditions.
Every entry raises funds to help change the future of muscle wasting conditions. The Bidwells Town and Gown 10k series has already raised over £2 million. We simply couldn’t put these events on without brilliant volunteers.
7 GoodGymers have supported Muscular Dystrophy UK (with Bidwells) with 2 tasks.

The Town & Gown 10k is a very popular race in the Oxford calendar. It usually seems to herald a hot and sunny sunday, but today we had grey skys and quite a chilly wind.
A quartet of Goodgymers were part of the team looking after the bag drop tent. With a record 7,000 runners at the event it was quite the undertaking.
We managed to keep things in order, not break our ankles hopping between the rows of bags, AND reunited all bags to their rightful owners at the end of the race. We were awarded with cups of tea and a very cute certificate.
Well done to Fred for his 10k PB. Lovely to see Muireann too!!

🙌 Town and Gown 10k, what a day!
It was Cambridge GoodGym's first time volunteering at an organised run, and it was brilliant fun. Working alongside the MDUK team, we were in charge of the finish line water station. The best place to be to congratulate runners and enjoy the great atmosphere 🎶
Having arrived early, we fuelled up on croissants and set to work laying out and filling over 1000 cups of water. We established a very efficient system working as a strong GoodGym team 💪
Later in the morning we mixed it up a bit and stacked up boards of cups to take out to runners, catering style. They were very grateful, and it was motivating speaking with runners who had just crossed the finish line.
Well done team and congratulations to all the runners 🎉
