How Did We Measure Up?

Sunday 6th April

Written by Jen Stoneham

For the final leg of our Great British Spring Clean Relay, we were back where it all started - Bransbury Park!

After an initial scout of the pathways, we were drawn to the astro-turf pitches, where we filled a huge bag with bottles and cans for recycling, alongside another bag of general rubbish.

More exotics finds includes a pair of sunglasses (in about six pieces around the outskirts of the courts), a ruler and a jacket. The jacket looked forgotten rather than abandoned, so we hung it up to hopefully be reclaimed.

This pick brought our total for GBSC to 43 bags - over twice what we pledged! amazing work, everyone!

Hold onto your butts!

Saturday 5th April

Written by Dave M

...As Sam L Jackson said in my favourite movie ๐ŸŽฌ

The sun ๐ŸŒž was shining brightly and the wind ๐Ÿ’จ was gusting strongly as we made our way around Canoe Lake.

The countless cigarette butts were certainly making us work hard to keep them in our grasp and bags!

I was very happy to see that the recent gorgeous weather and bbqs hadn't resulted in too horrific littering! ๐Ÿ‘

Nice costal location for a lunchtime litter pick, found a couple of gloves. Too much rubbish for one person. Weโ€™ll need a return visit.

Sunsetting Seasiders

Wednesday 2nd April

Written by Dave M

5 Goodgymmers headed along to the western shoreline to pick away at what the tide had dragged in.

Plenty of cans and waterbottles. Plastic and paper. And of course, a sock!

Apart from the wind trying to remove the bags from our hands we enjoyed our time in the setting sun.

Good luck to Andy, Abby & Katie on your various runs around the world this weekend!!

Pick 'N' Pooch

Tuesday 1st April

Written by Dave M

Tracey and I had a wander along the lane to try and clear a bit of the rubbish left strewn about.

2 bags later and it was slightly mission accomplished!

After many many shouts of "Ollie No" & "Ollie Stop", he was very happy to find an old tennis ball to keep him better behaved!
