17 GoodGymers have supported Portsmouth Stray Dogs Kennels with 3 tasks.
Saturday 3rd January

After a quick pit stop, nine Goodgymers headed to the kennels for our third task of the morning: to freshen up three tired benches. There was lively debate about the best way to flip a bench and why it was it best to leave the arms un-painted before attempting that. Big thanks to Helen for providing tea, biscuits and sweets but especially for introducing us to the gorgeous Ruby who showed off her ball skills and showered us with kisses - she even taught us the command 'scratch my bum!'

Tracey got straight on with cutting back the brambles and filled the wheelbarrow high.
Jo, Katie and Jane sanded and painted a bench whilst Dave donned a mask and spray painted the bite boxes bright red!
After a delightful break when Katie and Jane joined Diamond and Rex for playtime, we got to work on the a big cable reel with magic paint that looked black in the tin and came out green and purple!

It was a dogs life for Team GG this afternoon.
Helen welcomed us in the lovely winter sunshine with a list of jobs that needed doing. This was after Lady the dog had made sure she'd been given plenty of fuss and attention ❤️
Samantha, Tracey & Judy attacked the brambles round the back to make a nice space for the dogs to enjoy 🐶 Showing their bite was far worse that their bark!
Jen, Maxine & Val sanded and painted a double bench 🪑. Using big brain energy to leave the handles dry until it had been moved back into the shed. However, there was a ruff start when one of the handles received a bit of paint!
Yvonne & Lisa got to work on an old dog-eared cable reel . Painting and ensuring it didn't roll away! ✋️
And Dave channeled his inner Banksy spaying 🎨 primer onto some boxes that will be housed outside.
We ended the session with some ball play ⚾️ and love for the gorgeous Lady before we bid our farewells. We will certainly return in the future!
