Huge well done to our brilliant GoodGymmers two bags of rubbish cleared, one bag of crushed cans collected, and two absolutely soaked GoodGymmers who didn’t let the rain stop them, that’s proper dedication right there.

Smashing job!

Getting fitter picking litter

Friday 15th August 2025

Written by Sarah

Weldone to Nick, Lindsay, Gillian, Stu and Lynn getting fitter picking litter from DMU along route 6 cycle route in Leicester.

Nick... Plenty of rubbish and a bag of crushed cans this morning. Loads stuck behind the tall fence with narrow gaps that we couldn't pull anything through.

Lindsay... We definitely made a difference. Lots of thirsty folk at this time of year judging by all the discarded cans and bottles 😕

Weldone everyone fantastic efforts in some summer heat today.

“This is the way we brush our teeth”

Friday 12th July 2024

5 Fantastic Goodgymmers made their way to litter pick a stretch between the popular coffee house Jenno’s and Sainsbury’s as the area seems to be a litter trap. It was heaving even on a Friday morning so we made sure the leaflet stand was well stocked with GoodGym leaflets.

On route we found so many cans that we bagged those up separately and Nick is going to take them along to the Air ambulance charity where they get cash for cans.

Dawn found a tooth brush and I found a flattened pound coin that I donated to Stu, think he would have rather of had one he could spend.

3 full bags plus a sack of cans we were finished and ready for coffee, where we met Cliff and Lindsay’s cute little dog Alfie. Running Legend Stu was telling us about trip to Wales this weekend to run the 10km in Snowdonia, good luck!

Weldone team another morning well spent doing something good together.

Good pick for all of us

Friday 12th April 2024

Written by Sarah

Who knew that Sainsbury's slogan is now 'Good food for all of us'?

5 Goodgymmers took part in the Food Bank Run, a movement created by Hampshire based running club, Fareham Running Club, encouraging every group to create their own Food Bank Run. With backpacks filled we carried our donations to our local Foodbank donation site in Sainsbury's.

Nick had suggested bringing the litter pickers too which was a great idea, there's always plenty of litter on this route with fast-food outlets galore and tin can alley. 2 full bags of rubbish on our travels.

Shout out to Gareth on his first GoodGym Good deed and first completely new member of the year. Great to meet you and chat about your trail running adventures, hopefully see you again.

Lovely to see Lynn and hear about her first Run Director role at Junior parkrun, enjoy your parkrun tourism tomorrow along with Mel and Stu. Great morning walk with a purpose and lovely sociable walk in the sunshine.

Weldone all coming along and giving so much enthusiasm to the task.
