4 GoodGymmers took part in some citizen science at Holt Drive Tiny Forest. First of all everyone was shocked at the size of the forest now, the last visit was about 14 months ago as part of Paul and Gus’ tour. Last time the trees were about half of Kim’s height this time they were Kim’s height x 2.
Everyone got stuck in measuring, identifying trees and taking notes to report back to Tiny Forest HQ. Some huge weeds were also pulled to help the trees thrive in their Tiny Forest.
Weldone team fantastic efforts and a worthwhile task, 49 trees were examined in the process!

6 fantastic Goodgymmers armed with litter pickers, hoops and bags to walk over to Castle Gardens, one of the Leicester City Council parks GoodGym Leicester keep clean and tidy.
Nick started off a bag just for cans, that he is going to take to the Air Ambulance charity in Melton, good job because cans were a popular pick today. The rest of the rubbish was found marching up steps, under bushes and around trees, our step count was deffinately reached today.
Jimmy cycled to the task, Dawn walked part of the way and Sarah stocked up the leaflets at our meeting point to try and engage any gym goers to come and join us.
A very historic litter pick today and very lucky with the weather, it felt like summer again. Weldone everyone the Castle Gardens looks spic and span and great to catch up.

6 Goodgymmers came along to today's task down the canal at Bede Lock 44, a beautiful location for a sunny day, how lucky were we!
Today's task was cutting back the vegetation along the tow path with Rich from the Canal and River Trust. With all his tools and life jackets we were very well equipped for the job. After our safety briefing we were on our merry way passing the rats and on to the tow path.
Everyone got stuck in, Nick tackling a self seeded budleah growing along the path and other weeds along the edge. Our newest member Samir came back for his second Good deed, weldone Samir fantastic efforts, especially speed walking to the task.
Jimmy cycled, Dawn walked, Sarah and Stu saved their legs for racing half marathon's on Sunday, Sarah's in York and Stu's in Wales, good luck both and weldone all.
