After the wettest winter ever, the players and the changing rooms at 61 FC had clearly got a bit muddy so we were called in to give it a spring clean now the weather has brightened and the pitch is dryer.
We did a good paced 4km run out to the clubhouse, got set up with soapy water, scrubbers and mops and set to work bringing a fresher look and smell to the club!
Job done we had our traditional half-time orange squash and biscuits and finished the evening with the return 4km run into town.

We had a wonderful evening sprucing up the football club. We mopped, scrubbed, painted and washed everything until it was sparkling. Nearly everyone ran and Susannah did her first long distance brisk walk for a while. Thank you so much to Cliff for the chocolates and squash afterwards!

This week group run saw a fab team of four runners heading out to the 61 Football Club where a deep clean of the changing rooms awaited us.
It's been a muddy few weekends out on the pitch recently so the changing rooms had got in quite a state. We set about giving the away side's room a good scrub down, getting the streaks of mud off the walls and floors. We also gave the shower a deep scrub and all the floors a good mopping.
Cliff issued us with cups of strong squash and cookies to fuel our return journey back into town!

This weeks group run/walk/cycle took the 7 strong team to 61FC. The football club have been getting ready for the new season on the pitch and asked Goodgym Luton if we could help with some finishing touched to the outside of the clubhouse before the season starts this weekend.
Black paint, red paint, blue paint and a little bit of white, whilst not quite a rainbow it was definitely a colourful evening.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the task and Richard and the team at 61 FC were grateful for our efforts.
We look forward to going back soon.
Great effort on this task team, well done.

This weeks group run/walk/cycle to the Luton team to 61FC, to do a bit more painting to help them prepare for the new season which is just around the corner. After meeting in the town centre and having a brief introduction session as we had Pashew with us for the first time, the 11 strong team headed off to the task. On arrival Richard from 61FC was waiting with Rollers and brushes and several pots of paint šØ. So we split into 2 groups and painted the outside of the clubhouse and some more of the posts around the pitch. It was good fun and definitely gave us all a good arm workout. The task was also Omar 's 100th task. So we look forward to seeing him in his šŖ½ t-shirt very soon. After some quick refreshments and agreeing to come back and finish the posts in a few weeks time, we headed back to town centre. This week we also have another milestone in the group, so we decided to tag a mini social on the back of the task to celebrate š¾ our very own David who's birthday it is (age reveal in the pics). This is the perfect opportunity to shout out the man who brought Goodgym to Luton and has truly helped us go from strength to strength šŖ A real leader. Congratulations to Omar, Pashew and David and awesome job to all that attended. Well done team š šš» š š

For this weeks group šāāļø šāāļø run, š¶āāļø š¶āāļø walk, š² cycle the team headed over to 61fc to start (what now seems to be an annual task) painting the posts on the barrier around the football pitch so they look nice for the coming season. The team were 9 strong tonight and we welcomed Dinner Dee on her first group run after joining us for several other tasks, it was good to get her out and about with the team and we hope she'll join us again. Richard at the club was happy with what we got done and we've agreed to go back in a few weeks and get some more done. Great effort tonight everyone.
