This morning saw us at the Community Hospice's warehouse in Welling, sorting donations to be distributed to the charity's shops across Greenwich and Bexley.
After a warm welcome and some training by Andrew and James, we set to work inspecting and sorting the pre-loved clothes, shoes, bags, soft furnishings and other assorted items into separate bags ready for their onward journey to hopefully find a new owner.
There was lots of chatter and the time flew by.
Thank you for having us Andrew and James. And congratulations to Jane and Zita on your first GoodGym task 🥳!
We have another session at the warehouse next Saturday. Places are limited so sign-up soon if you'd like to go along!

Tonight we helped with sanding down two garden benches at the Parkview Care Home. One group ran from the Crook Log sports centre and the other group met there. We received a warm welcome from Andy and Annette who provided refreshments upon arrival. We soon got on with the job of sanding down the benches ready for the residents to paint them. Andy wanted to know more about Goodgym and said he was impressed with what we do! Luke was photographer this evening and done an excellent job! We are looking forward to going back soon!

What can you expect to find while litter picking? Well, it’s more of an unexpected treasure hunt than you might think!
On our latest community mission, we found a lone mitten, a stray shoe, and even some leftover fireworks – talk about variety! 🥿🎆🧤
We teamed up with the fantastic Friends of Lesnes Abbey and Woods at their monthly session. Not only did we give the area a good clean-up, but we also got a great workout in – the perfect combination of doing good while staying active.
Ashton even got an extra workout on the trim trail!
Don’t miss out on our upcoming sessions! Whether you’re a seasoned GoodGymer or a curious first-timer, come along to make a difference, stay fit, and maybe even discover a few treasures along the way.

We made quite a difference to the grounds at Welling Library today.
'Make mine a vodka and Coke.' With nearly fifty empty glass bottles there had clearly been a drinking party at some point! They all went into the recycling bin ♻️.
Then we tackled the weeds and brambles, not easy in the frozen ground 🌱 .
Luckily we were working around the sunny sides of the building and all our activity kept us warm despite the minus temperatures in the shade 🌡.
A little over an hour - and nine bin bags-ful later - we headed to a nearby café for hot drinks and more chatting. The hot chocolate was a well-earned winner!
Elsewhere, GoodGym tourism saw Ashton's litterpicking, and Peter's volunteering at junior parkrun take us to 25 good deeds this month. This means we've already reached our target for the January Challenge 💥!
That's amazing, and great work Team GG Bexley! Can we make it to 50 by the end of the month do you think?
