Report written by Char Binns
10 runners ran 6km to deliver flyers promoting the important service of south Liverpool's cancer support centre Sunflowers.
This week our super 10 competed to see which team could deliver flyers in the quickest time. Going head to head down the streets of Toxteth, Team 2 emerged victorious amongst cries of cheat and ahem, they have an extra person so of course they've won! Both teams made short work of the task and we posted around 120 flyers in 15 minutes, promoting a brilliant local charity who have been supporting people living with cancer for 30 years.
Afterwards we headed to Princes Park for a glute-tastic fitness session which cumulated with the runners taking a shot at the Parkrun home-straight in full sprint mode. I for one, was really impressed and I hope they all felt proud of their efforts.
We took a short run through the park, greeting a magnificent heron wading on the edge of the pond before heading back to base, with one last leafleting stop on route.
This week's shouts-out go to newbies Ryan and Leo for bringing enthusiasm and humor to both the task and the fitness session. Leo also gets credit for this week's report title. Also a big thanks to Emma for volunteering to be our trusty back-marker.
Next week we'll be in beautiful Everton Park (the views are amazing) helping out with litter-picking and general maintenance. Don't be an egg, sign-up here! See you then.
Happy running, Char <3
