A terrific 20 said "I ain't afraid of no Dennis" and ran through a blustery evening to help a fab community learning centre.
Two storms in two weeks, yet the tough (and friendly) team at GoodGym Liverpool just keeps running and is even growing! The run up to Kennsington wasn't nearly as cold or as windy as anticipated and the team even made short work of that long slope they're always so fond of. 2.7km later and we arrived at Kennsington Community Learning Centre.
As usual, we were greeted warmly with drinks and biscuits before Centre Manager Suz put us to work. The team was split over various tasks including cleaning suspect stains and grime off all of the computer room chairs (gloves a must!) While a sub team was busy shifting and lifting boxes, files and laptops and moving a heavy filing cabinet.
Shout out to newbies Isobel and Aidan who easily kept pace and really got stuck in at the task. We'd love to run with you both again soon.
A big welcome back and we're so glad you're safe and well to our wonderful Yan who was away for a month and then in self-imposed house quarantine for 2 weeks. Needless to say, she was as happy to be out running as we were to see her!
Making light work of the task, we had time to pose for some "Feel the love" photos before setting off into a head wind back to base. Setting a strong pace to ensure everyone was warm enough, we made great time back into the city and to our Hope Street base.
Fantastic work everyone and well done for braving the wind, cold and dark. You are all heroes!
Next week we're back at the Bombed Out Church so please dress for the weather and bring gloves.
Don't forget there's still time to sign-up for our Wild Welsh Weekender with GoodGym Cardiff. And you can see everything we've got coming up (including a Community Mission this weekend) online here.
