A new task tonight and after the usual admin we headed south in the wind, trying to make sure we didn't have any Wizard of Oz moments and get swept off to another part of the City.

We ran down to PDF, which is based just behind Eastney Health Centre and Lynne met us with a selection of tasks. As the weather was dry, we opted for the outdoor tasks: digging out the raised beds; painting the "Rains Retreat" table and cutting back the prickly berry laden bushes that had been scratching the cars. What we lacked in numbers we made up for in work rate and within half an hour the bushes were under control, table painted, one raise bed was almost totally cleared and the other 2 were dug over in readiness for clearing. I think we might be back to help out again!

Our fitness session was inspired by the new marathon world record at the weekend. Eluid Kipchoge ran at an amazing pace that meant he was covering 100m every 17seconds. We did 6 lots of 17 second bursts in Milton Park and then wondered how on earth he kept up that kind of speed for 42.2km!

We finished back at base with a birthday biscuit for Jo - good luck for your hip operation - we hope to see you back at GoodGym soon.

Quick reminder that we'll be at Southsea Parkrun this weekend (and they are looking for volunteers if you don't want to run). And we'll be stopping for a cuppa afterwards. We will have a photo before the start this time so wear your red t-shirt!

Next week is another trip to the Lido. No swimming this time as it'll be dark when we finish! Sign up here, there will be a slower group setting off a little earlier (18:20)
