GoodGym control to Ranger Tom... commencing mission, here come ten (of us)!
Ranger Tom to the GG crew... here's everything from hackers to shovel, and I'm ready as well.
Off we went with Ranger Tom, to get those invasive roses gone.
Bloody hard it turned out to be, but GoodGym spirit refuse to cede. Jen wouldn't stop till she hit antipode!
Rachel & Jess found the deepest root, for a twig sized rose that was barely a foot!
Gillian and Mike hacked away, Anne-Laure wouldn't back away.
Mick wielded the mattock like a man on a mission, there's no chance for the rose invasion!
Sheila, Diya and Kanika ganged (up), their mark were roots that were tangled.
GoodGym crew to Ranger Tom, we did our best, we gave it all... Ranger Tom to GG gang, it wasn't nothing and thank you all!

Personally, this is one of my favourite tasks. Watching the empty hall be transformed into a mini art gallery is so satisfying.
Our first job was to help move the stands from under the stage, construct them and place them according to Wendy's plan.
Julie and Jen helped make sure there were hooks available at each stand so the art could be hung, whilst Jess helped with numbering the stands.
It was all hands on deck to transfer the art from stage to screen, literally, and to hang the art as directed.
Thankfully we were told not to worry about hanging them perfectly as a member of the Arts Club would cast their artistic eye over them and make any final touches.
Once the art was hung, and the table packed up and moved back onto the stage, it was time for a lunch break followed by a bit more furniture moving and setting up the 'crafty' table for the sculptures and other pieces of craftwork on display.
Having a sneak preview of the art was great, we spotted all of Amy's pieces (& were in awe of her talent).
If you can visit the exhibition over the next 2 weeks, it's definitely worth it.
There is still time to sign up for the task in 2 weeks to help them pack it all up until their Spring exhibition.

Christine and Sheila went to the Community Allotments this evening. First task was to fill the water butts with the hose. Meanwhile we watered all the crops with watering cans. We also had a bit of time to do some pruning of the tomato side shoots and harvested some beetroot. We ended up with a set of full water butts, ready for all the watering which will need to be done this week.

Its nearly time for the annual Cookham Art Exhibition at Pinder Hall, and 4 GoodGymers went to help the organisers set up for the first phase - Art Submission. Wendy, our taskowner had a detailed plan of what needed to go where, so all we had to do was get the right things in the right places. We moved chairs, tables, boards, frames, posts, posters and hooks until it was all in the correct place, ready for tomorrow. Then it's over to the Sunday team for phase 2!

4 GoodGymers helped out at the Baby Bank this morning. Our first task was to unpack and store 25 staircases which had been delivered that morning. Once these had all been neatly packed away, we moved upstairs. Karen and Sheila K did secondary checking and putting away of donations that had already been checked once by a corporate team. Meanwhile Carol and Sheila A were let loose in the uniform room. At this time of year we get so many requests for school uniform, so we made a start on some of the requests. We quickly had to get up to speed with the colour requirements of all the different schools (why do so many still require logo-ed items???). And questions such as, what is the chest size of an average 10-year old? Unfortunately we could not fulfil all requested items, but anything we can provide will be a great help to families who can not afford such an outlay
