Do You Want Breakfast?

Wednesday 22nd January

Written by Jen Stoneham

Well, GoodGym achieved what many had thought impossible - we destroyed the Somerstown Cement Pit!

Sinéad found her calling as rotivator-wielder, whilst the rest of us rotated between pick-axing, digging, forking, barrowing and shoveling.

Judy made a commendable foreman, yet also had a knack for getting in the line of fire - the amount of times "MIND JUDY'S HEAD" was bellowed was pretty impressive.

Our run back was full of discussion about what take-away we might get on our way home. I was very hungry by the time we got back!

Run Report title courtesy of Dave, who clearly wasn't listening when I asked him what the title should be.

Mounds of Opportunity with GoodGym!

Saturday 14th May 2022

Written by Jen Stoneham

Today we supported Home-Start Portsmouth with an epic garden upgrade for the Outdoor Explorers groups.

Our main task was to destroy some flower beds, replant the rosemary bushes and construct two "mounds' for the children to run around on. Despite nobody having any precious mound-building experience our efforts paid off - they look fab! Hopefully the new turf will survive tonight's rain!

In true GoodGym style we got stuck in helping with other jobs, including painting, planting and tidying.

Everyone at Home-Start were so grateful for our help and have said they couldn't have managed without us. Thank you, you absolute legends!
