Ealing Report written by StephDucat
Alan, Tom and Steph Ducat tackled the new edition of the Queen of the Suburbs. Not an easy one today due to the heat but they managed to conquer the heat. This couldn't of happened without all the volunteers on the course who kept them hydrated. Great aid station in Southall with the GG Ealing crew

With volunteer numbers thin on the ground, our team rocked up on a Friday lunchtime with We Run Ealing to support the monthly Ealing Mile. Despite the inclement weather, runners still came out and duly ran the one mile loop of the park. Good on 'em, we say!

Acton Junior parkrun this morning coincided with Harvey's task to donate old running shoes to Jog On. It resulted in a great haul of well worn trainers which will be saved from landfill. A lot of the runners must've been wearing speedy new shoes then, with the first runner finishing in a PB of 7:41 on the hilly course.
Unusually, no GoodGymers were volunteering in the funnel. A marshal shortage meant that Harvey, Joanna, Tom, Steph, Maria, Kash and Sevan were dotted around the marshal point on the course.
"Is there a marathon on today?" - Park goer
There was no marathon. Instead, a 2km run completed by 53 brilliant children.

Xmas day and a few Goodgymers from different areas joined other park runners on a very cold and windy morning in Gunnersbury Park. Nearly 900 runners/walkers took part on a very special Park run : Xmas day parkrun. Different outfits were seen and seems that Santa has twins, triplets or quadruplets and he was all over the park. Obviously we could see snowmen, elves and other festive characters running around. Some runners also volunteered at the end as bar code scanners : Harvey, Tom and Maria. Chikako was guide running with her daughter.
At least the outfits and hats kept all of us warm. Merry Xmas to everyone.
After parkrun some Goodgymers walked to St Mary's Road in Ealing to enjoy free coffee, pastries and savoury snacks at Pulp X Paperback : donations from customers when getting a hot drink and tasty freshly baked pastries. Donations going to Prostate Cancer UK and Ealing Churches Winter Night Shelter.
Good to see people coming out on Xmas day to run. walk, volunteer and be social.

A trio of GoodGym folk were on hand to help out at the Ealing Mile, a monthly race organised by the good people at We Run Ealing/Ealing Half Marathon. They registered runners, marshaled and cheered!
The conditions were ideal - blue sky, a bit chilly - as the 23 runners of all ages circumnavigated Lammas Park.
The runners have a break in January to over indulge! See you again in 2026.
