A little less dystopian future than the 1953 novel (yes, I have been down a Wikipedia rabbit hole), our task this evening took us to a very peaceful garden for a spot of weeding.
The triffids had taken over the paving, so we removed these and some other weeds between the slabs. We even had time to clear some of the stoned area, including moving a very stubborn fuschia from amongst the rocks to a much more comfortable pot.
A lovely rainbow made a brief appearance at the end of our session which felt like a little bit of a reward for a very damp task.

Thanks to Katie L for arranging this task for us - we had a very pleasant evening in The Samaritans garden.
We had a list of tasks that needed undertaking and managed to complete the list in a little under 45 minutes!
Weeds were pulled (with some specialist paving-slab lifting in places), flower beds were watered and the shed was organised. We even managed to wrestle a very large gazebo back into his storage bag!
Sinéad and Katie demonstrated some mega upper body strength hanging in the trees, whilst Andy and Dave had a manly moment behind the shed together pulling put some deeply rooted grasses.
And well done to our Run Team this evening, who managed to squeeze in a second good deed on their way to our task - separate report to follow 😀

A good clear out always feels good and these GoodGymers felt even better as their pre loved clothes, shoes and bric-a-brac were all donated to Sam's Place.
All sales from the shop will fund local Samaritans services. ❤️

4 keen goodgym Gardeners were ready to leaf into action and uproot all the plants from van to garden. Unfortunately due to speedy traffic all the lifting and shifting had already been done when we arrived! So we help return the wheelbarrows to the van did the crucial job of watering in the plants and hypothesising about where their final resting spots should be. A quick mission but showing people you will turn up when and when you are asked is always a positive message to spread!

First of all a huge GoodGym welcome to Harriet who joined us for the first time, she sorted and re-packed bags like a champion, she fitted right in! Tonight Anne and Molly (the dog) from Sams Place charity shop had us sorting bags of stock, tagging unlabeled items and rebagging stock. There are some incredible treasures in that store so do go give them a visit. Rosie and Maxine tackled the many many scarfs and what we termed miscellaneous by the end of the night, which included a tea cosie disguised as a bobble hat! Enjoy the photos and we hope to see you soon!
